Title: Laguna Seca test server
Post by: Chad Brown on June 14, 2017, 04:45:50 pm
I have put up a test server for Laguna Seca. One of the reasons I have not used Laguna Seca in our recent series is due to some bumps in the track which had been throwing cars into the air. This was discovered while using the P1 mod. I think though that the EGT cars sit off the ground enough for this to not be a problem. I recall having this problem with Donington as well and we didnt have any issues with the EGT cars.

So in an effort to have Laguna Seca included in our next series I would like for you all to test this version of the track with the EGT cars and report any problems. I will continue to put up test tracks in preparation for next the next points series.

So how has it been with EGT?

Hmmm I don't know about this one...

I LOVE Laguna Seca, but this version is kind of a butchering unfortunately :/

The first 4 or 5 turns are OK and then ooof..... no bueno.

I vote pass  :'(

I have a memory that it gets pretty bumpy on the last sector of the track no matter the car or the track version currently available. I might refresh my memory on this matter.

I agree with Jan.
I vote pass on this track too.
The cork screw is ridiculous, not at all accurate.
I'm used to the IRacing version and this version feels all wonky as well as the car seems to bob around like a rubber ducky in the bath tub.

Like the track cork screw does feel odd and pos not DX11 as looks like someone let off a nuke in car park (bit bright )  ;D

Not that I've every driven the real track, but the corkscrew does feel weird on this version. I know it doesn't have to be accurate for us to race, but it just seems a little unrealistic.
I do like the fact that they have modelled the drainage grate on the inside of the corkscrew. On TV, I've seen "The Doctor" ride his MotoGP over this while passing people!  :o

Yeah, I've seen that spot kill cars in other races. But it always seems to be cars with low to the ground front end. I don't believe we will have a problem with it using the EGT cars.

It didn't look that bright on my screen (dx9). I didn't encounter such kerb problem either despite going over most of the kerbs, weird.

Yep, those curbs are there to keep you from cutting the track. Looks like it worked.

It might be the collision box going under the track and getting caught up. These Lagunas all come from the same source and I'm yet to see a properly good one so it might be issues with track mesh on top of the collision box.

We can only hope. It is a great track and a TON of fun when it is working properly.
