got my honda castrol wtcc skin for the mclaren almost finished. i wanted to use the bentley at first, but i feel more comfortable with the mclaren after i tried it for a few rounds. the livery should be final now, i will just add some decals i guess.

Got one side almost finished and wanted to ask you, if you like the colors etc so far. i tried to reproduce the "tear"-pattern of the mclaren you posted, but i wasnt able to recreate it exacly how it was in the screenshot. another problem was that the bentley has simply more space, so i had to either expand it or resize it, what both didnt look good to me. so i ditched it.
this is what it looks now. ive finished the front and one side. the back is around 50% now, roof is missing yet. if there is anything you want to add, delete, change just tell me.

Sebastian, that looks also amazing. The only thing that should be changed is the flag and country. I'm from Belgium, not the Netherlands.
If you can add a VRC banner on the windscreen, that would be great as well.

changed. do you know if there is a template for the windscreen? its not in the template folder and i couldnt find it via google.

Last one for a few days now, because i have exams in the upcoming week. if anyone wants to use a skin, just ask. should there be anything you want to have removed, changed or added (like name, number, etc.), i would do that aswell.

After our Stress test it is clear that the join lag is caused by the skin transfer. Those who were uploading 4K skins made the network usage spike significantly for a second or so. With each new driver joining the server needs to transfer every new custom skin to the new driver. The more drivers the more data needs to be transferred to each driver. The effect was smaller with 2K skins but not nearly as dramatic. Once the skins have been transferred a driver can disconnect and reconnect without causing the lag again, unless new drivers connected since the disconnect. In that case the skin must be distributed to the new drivers and the new drivers skin given to the reconnecting driver.
A skin pack may help alleviate this problem, however, my opinion is that is not worth the effort of packing a skin into an rfmod. If drivers change their skin then they still have to transfer the new skin upon first logging in. If they change their skin the skin pack has to be changed then to the newest skin. In either case to avoid any further join lag the drivers must stick with the same skin for the remainder f the series. Again, not worth the effort as any changes (or additional drivers to the series) void all the work.
I think once the drivers have all met often enough they skins will transfer through the natural way the game works and the join lag will diminish over time.
But all that being said. Please use 2K skins when you build and create your custom skins. That will help eliminate the lag in the first place.

Hi guys, I would like to suggest to save the skins as 2k (2048 x 2048). The original ones are 4k and with big grids FPS and smoothness start to suffer.

Sebastian, I was gonna ask you if you have any "unclaimed" skins left by Friday if you'd be willing to send em my way. I wanna use them as spare cars in the skin pack. That way people who don't have their own skins have something to pick thru. Plus they look too damn good to go to waste :)

i like the second one
i think the shiny thing is made with alpha channels i remember having an issue where cars were TOO shiny and reversing the alpha channels helped. if not the second one its ok i like that silver shade

For the Merc there's 2 different .veh files using different shaders . One is a matte car the other normal paint.

If there is a time to make sure all things are included and proper it is now. If there are skins to add please do it now before we get to Sunday. (in their final configurations). If you are not ready, you can add your skin to the pack mid way though the series.

I'm gonna ask if you can be added
Once the pack is final I will post the link here so those who want to install it manually can do so. Note that this comes as an update to the cars. Once you have the pack installed you can't enter other servers using the gt3 cars. Luckily it's easy to uninstall/reinstall the pack in case you want to jump in to another server using gt3 cars at some point. Our aim is to enable skin transfers again at some point when we are sure the server can handle skin transfers for ~30 drivers. Might be the new server is already up to the job but we don't want to risk it at this point.
