Yeah I saw that as well. I have an AMD FX8320 8 core CPU overclocked to 4. 0GHZ. I am interested in moving to an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 or 2600. But then I need to get new DDR4 Ram as my DDR3 Ram wont work for that specific CPU and motherboard. But the Current machine is almost 4 years old at this point so I suppose I've gotten my money from it.

Picked up the Ford today. Got a few laps in at Road America before I had to go back to work. I thought it felt pretty good but pushed a bit more than I expected. I put on 15 AI and built up some rubber though before I had to go.

I think I may have been getting some input lag as I was having some frame issues as well with that number of AI on track. I also was having a similar feel in the new Oreca on Lemans. I really need to upgrade my Video card and CPU... but I am at the end of the upgrade path for my CPU and will have to build an entire new machine to have any real tangible results. Oh well, maybe next year.

Welcome to VRC Marcel. I gave up long ago hoping the new drivers were not fast. It appears all the new drivers that are coming here are very quick. The older members are really benefiting from the competition and everyone's abilities are improving as we grow. Very exciting times.

I received my replacement Rift today in the mail. Unfortunately I was not able to hook it up and test it before I had to run off to work. I will try to get it tested tonight after work. I hope it has no problems. *Fingers Crossed*

At that price I will wait for Oculus to come out with their version of the wireless solution built into the HMD. I suspect it will be part of the 3rd version (CV3). The CV1 works very well and I don't see any reason to upgrade it further until a vastly superior HMD is released at a reasonable price. (im looking at you Vive Pro)

Yes, the tpcast wireless adapter has been released. The only downside is that it's also around $400 to $500.

I received a reply today from Oculus that I will be receiving a replacement Rift. I dont know if it has shipped yet or not but I at least know that a new (refurbished) one is coming back to me. Also my wife told me tonight that she is buying me a 3rd Rift sensor for my setup. I am excited as this will allow me to have full 360 degree tracking with no loss of signal.

I am hoping to pick up the items needed to finish the update to my Play Space for my rift before the new HMD arrives. I will likely only get up the two sensors I currently have. I have not yet received the 3rd one but have been planning out my new VR room for a bit now and am excited to get it built out.

This makes me think of how excited i was to build my Racing Rig. Sim racing was new and exciting and I had a desire to immerse myself in it. The Rig was a project I really and truly enjoyed making. This new VR space is the same. I absolutely love the VR games I have played and wish to experience them with more room to walk around and explore.

The new space should be about 10 feet by 10 feet. This is slightly bigger than Oculus recommends but with the third sensor I should have a very robust setup that will not lose tracking in almost any situation. (Never say Never). For those of you who have VR setups let me know what kind of experience You have had.

LOL. I have sent back my headset to Oculus. They should have received it today. They will look at it and send me back a replacement. It sounds like I should expect them to take 3-4 days to inspect and decide on the best replacement/repair option. I expect to have the replacement by next week sometime.

I should be taking part in the race tonight (as long as we have attendees). I raced on Sunday and had some troubles moving back to 2D but it will be temporary.

On another note, this has provided me with the perfect motivation to complete an area of my basement which will offer more VR room for movement. I had to tear out a bar that was not being used to do it but it will be completely worth the effort I think. I still have to finish the floor and wall where the bar was attached but I am hoping to do that over the next few days. I will then begin the migration of the Oculus sensors and finally the Racing rig to the new area.

I switched the earpieces to the other sides. They are intended to be side specific but can connect to the other side's connection. The same side is having audio problems. regardless of which earpiece is connected.

I have done a lot of things to try and troubleshoot the issue. In the end I suspect I am going to have to send the headset in for repair. This sucks.

That might be an option. I recall having some very long audio cables that might do the trick... but that doesnt help my Rift not turning the display on.

Interesting though that the Oculus software thinks the rift is working fine and only one earpiece works. Makes me think that there is a broken solder joint in the headset or something.

Yup, Now the Rift is not turning on the display. I tried to run on my 22" 1080P Screen. I HAD 3 of these screens , but after getting the rift I gave one to my Nephew for his gaming computer. The FOV was completely **** up. I cant see my corners the same way I can in VR. I am irritated as ****.

I've been working 12 hour days

Welcome to the club.

Our department has been so short on officers that I have been putting in a TON of 12 hour days. It's the main reason I have been so quiet on the forums and not being able to participate in all the races. On top of that i had been promised a move to first shift starting on May 1st. Notice we are almost in June and I am still on second shift. This morning one of my Sergeants called and asked if I was interested in moving to first on June 1st. I told him yes. When I showed up for work at 3PM I was told that the scheduling simply didn't work out and that maybe by August they would move me.... I told him not to bother asking me and simply tell me when they can positively move me. I am currently the third highest seniority officer on the department (and Union President) and I am getting jacked around. It's bullshit.

*Deep Breath, Long Exhale*

in any case, I know how you feel and I hope you can join us for as many races as possible. I would love to see you on track Dane.

Last night I discovered that the left earpiece of my Rift HMD is completely non-functional. The right earpiece is functioning sporadically and will function when I play with the headband and get it set properly. This is a significant problem as I have become accustomed to racing in 3D and the thought of racing on a flat screen is almost obscene at this point. Unfortunately I will likely have to send the HMD into Oculus for repair or replacement. I am currently working with their Support department to resolve the problem but I will likely be without my favorite piece of hardware EVER for a little while. Until the unit is sent off I will probably have to use headphones to race. Not ideal but racing on a flat screen is not an option anymore.

The only thing I can think of is that by raising the rear ride height you're putting more weight on the front. This could potentially result in a heavier wheel because the more weight on the front suspension would make it slightly more difficult to turn the wheel. Although if it's such a massive difference that might be an issue.
