General Discussion / Re: Post your Rigs!! Make Chad jealous!!
« on: February 20, 2018, 01:18:19 pm »
I don't believe the link worked.

I think your referring to my post Chad?
I used Google Photos to upload the photo and followed their procedure for embedding in a web forum.
Tried Flikr, but in "Preview" couldn't get it to show up, no matter what method I used to link it?
Finally tried Goggle and it seemed to "Preview" OK?
I'll see what I can do to fix it, but I can see it from all my computers and my phone... I log out of VRC and I can't see anybody’s photos.
Kind of difficult to test it  :)
What do you guys use to link photos?
Thanks Chad

Those are some nice rigs there fellas!
Here is my "dungeon"  I'm afraid I am regulated to the basement with all my junk  :)

Tried to upload with a resized image, no luck, tried to do again thru Flickr, can't get it to preview...
Screw it, not that impressive any way :)
I'm used to using photo bucket for this in the past but that's not an option anymore.
I'll figure it out someday when I have more time.
Thanks for the help fellas.

Update:
tried using Dropbox.
I can see it, can anyone else?
Let me know, thanks!

FYI... iRacing's FFB is incredibly detailed, as long as one uses the plugin that diverts their telemetry data to the wheel.

Never heard of a plugin for iracing ffb. Got a link?

Is this it?

Wow, I like that!
Makes me want to go back to a custom skin for the series.
Nice work Sebastian.

Thanks a lot! if you want, i can still upload the .dds file for you.

Thanks for the offer Sebastian but I think for now I will stick with a default skin.

A new Server hotfix has been applied and the high CPU usage problem has been fixed. THe servers are back up and running with the new hotfix applied.

Thanks Chad!

Grats to Tom and Simon.
I think I could of finished 3rd, but I thought the race was over and it looks like I should of went one more lap LOL.
I like open wheel too.   Wish I could run it more often.
Thanks for setting the server up Chad, hope you got your racing rig fixed.
Gerry

I was chatting with Scott and he said he likes Open Wheel too, so we might be able to do a weeknight thing. He and I are on PST and I am guessing you are on MST?

I'm on EST.  I could race up to as late as 11:00pm EST (8:00pm PST)

Gerry you were right there. Had you not got that Stop N Go it would have been a tight 3 way finish.
Yea, maybe, I was making too many little mistakes.  That's how I got the stop and go, for track limits.  You guys were slowly pulling away from me and I was over driving the car.
This car/ track combo was fun and it was fun to be in the Frey for a few laps!

We'll have to meet for coffee sometime (when the snow stops LOL).
Hope to see you in the upcoming series, I'm mid pack at best, usually last though  :)

Hi Craig,
Welcome to the group!
What part of SW MI are you from?
I'm from the Kalamazoo area, a little north and west actually.
Hope to see you on track soon!

I had to ditch the event.
I haven't played PC2 in a week or so and today I fire it up, get logged in to Simon's server and I go to practice and I got bumper view only.
Uhmm, have to check my options, not really sure where that is in the settings.  Finally figure it out and get a button mapped to cycle camera views.  Don't know why all of the sudden cockpit is not the default view?
Do a few laps and decide to change cars.  Come back in and do a few laps, all is well, running good.  Escape back to pit box and go to setup to make a few changes and the menu items are scrolling back and forth from low to highest settings... basically all spazzed out.  Can't make any more adjustments.  I have had this before but I can't remember how I fixed it..
Keep trying  ;D  cya next week!
Gerry

Oh yea, thanks Simon for the server

VRC fun runs for other sims / Re: Off season fun runs
« on: December 06, 2017, 03:57:28 pm »
As long as he doesn't pick Nordschleife :D

Formula rookie car was pretty fun when I tested it. Simon might know what cars are popular so we could attract some random people joining these events (but lets make it password protecred at least).

As rain is pretty cool in pc2, we should do one race in changing conditions. If next two Sundays are with pc2, then I think our gt3 series can't start sooner than 21st of January. 24th and 31st of December are not great days for simracing. I wouldn't mind if the pre-season has only one race in it. People would practice on our servers or offline anyway.

Formula Rookie is a blast, it would be fun to have a changing weather condition race in that!

How are you liking your new gpu Gerry? Have you monitored how hot your gpu runs while playing rf2? My Asus Strix gtx 1080 reaches 60-64 celsius. Fans are a bit noisier than with gtx 970. And I have suffered some coil whine while playing a manager game (probably high fps as I even had that with gtx 970 in rf2 menus)

Hi Matt,
My 1080 does seem to run hotter than my 970 did.  I haven't monitored the card since I first installed it and was bench marking while trying to overclock.
The fans on my 970 were really loud when they ramped up to full speed.  I can hardly hear the fans on the 1080, even at full speed!  I think they are better fans or something.
I'm not really sure what coil whine is.  I have seen it mentioned before in forums and reviews but I don't hear any whine noise that I can tell.
Over all I am really happy with the results, especially in RF2.  I have got that so that it looks a lot better and runs a lot better too.
I am still trying to get a better look in PC2.  The image seems to be really jagged and a lot of shimmering or weird flashing on surfaces a long distance away.
Like hay bails along a wall or the wall itself, trees, buildings.  Lamp posts look like barber poles with a shadow or something making a moving helix down the length of the poles.  I hope I can get it tweaked because it is somewhat distracting.
Gerry
