kind of reminds me of the "Jazz. Rock Fusion" Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, Stanley Clark, Larry Coryell form the 70's.

yeah. i like those guys. also, Miles, who started all of that in the late 60s. Tony Williams Lifetime I love a lot.

Thanks for the setup, Simon.

Completely different from the default; like learning a whole new car. Hasn't brought my time down yet.

Best I was able to get with default was 2:03.5. New setup haven't been below 2:05.

Is someone willing to share tuning for the Porsche at Sebring?

Painfully boring? Not for a noob like me. Helping me to hone concentration, and muscle memory.

OTOH, is it just me, or is the pavement just too smooth? Hardly anything to feel in the FFB.

Wondering whether I'm ready to join the race tomorrow.

I can drive laps pretty good as long as I don't try to push too hard, but I still lose concentration every few laps, and crash. That's no good for anybody.

Also, I have no idea about pitstops. Tried to do it in practice, but never could figure out how to make it happen.

Should I jump in?

I've been taking laps on the server this afternoon.

Just got an audio alert for all non essential personnel to leave the grid.

Is there an SOP with rules and etiquette somewhere?

Tarheel Dan

P.S. Do people on the track talk to each other during practice over headsets? I didn't wear one this afternoon.

What would be authentic for the APEX cars? Paddle shifter, or console mounted sequential?

I have a feeling that version 2 of Flat 6 is not like the previous one, Marketcrash. Granted, I'm inexperienced, but it seems to me that holding ridiculous slip angles would make it easy to drive. Apex Porsche is much easier for me.

Give it a try, and see what you think.

My TrackIR came in the UPS today. Very subtle effect, but nice.

I've been driving nothing but Silverstone for the longest time; tonight with the APEX Mercedes, which was weird to me, and the Porsche, which seemed very easy to drive.

I mentioned the EnduRacer mod, previously. Anyone care to comment on that? I have driven the Flat 6 quite a bit. Very difficult, but enjoyable.

Maybe tomorrow night I'll try some laps on the server.

New member here. I've been having a very helpful discussion on the New Members board.

It takes time, effort, and money to organize an enterprise such as this, and I want everyone to know that it is greatly appreciated.

What do I have to do to drive laps on the server to post times?

Do I need to register here:

If so, what should I do about the "Domain" field on the form?

Separate question:

Does the server run the APEX mod exclusively? Before finding this group, I had been trying out the EnduRacers mod. Have only tried the Flat 6. It was fun, and the skins are pretty, both outside, and in the cockpit. APEX not as pretty, but if I really want pretty, I can go to another sim title.

What led me here, though, was mention of this group in association with the URD mods, which I have purchased, but not yet driven. Do you guys ever run these?

That's all for now.

Car setup has always frustrated me. It's not that I don't have comprehension of the adjustments, and what they are supposed to do, it's that it isn't fun for me, and takes so much time. I just like to drive.

In the world of competition, setups are like secret sauce, so the aren't widely available. Unless someone can tell me otherwise?

Any pointers on the APEX setups? Specifically, Porsche?

Tarheel Dan

P.S. Should this conversation continue as it is, with me posing newbie questions, or should I start threads elsewhere?

June 12, 2017, 08:12:48 pm Chad Brown says: I think that would be a grand idea Ignacio. You have the pleasure of watching the race and we get the pleasure of pretending we are actually professional drivers. LOL. I think it would be cool to have someone announcing the race live in a stream. If you are keen to do so I would not say no.

June 12, 2017, 03:04:17 pm i_hortal says: dont think so, unless a miracle happens this week. ive had awful luck this past months. :/

June 12, 2017, 12:17:02 pm i_hortal says: how would you feel if i do stream your races and do commentary while i wait for my own driving :D ? maybe i can get someone else in the booth as im leaned more on the technical side and i alwady do regular streams on twitch.
