Thanks for the response. Its nice to hear that people are willing to recommend the League to their friends. It means that we must be doing something right. See you on track.

Welcome Gossler. Always good to see new faces coming to the league. If I might ask, who Volun-told you to join up here? Not that we have any sort of recommendation program or anything, just curious.
In any case I hope you find your racing experience to be exciting, entertaining, and educational. If you have any questions please ask.

Welcome Ted.
You certainly will be one of the youngest members of the VRC league. It is always nice to have members who have some RL race experience. We have had other members with varied amounts of track time, be it in local club races, and even a Blancpain driver. I always find it interesting to hear how an experienced driver feels that rF2 simulates their experiences. I take all the paid shills "opinions" about a sim with a grain of salt as they are paid by the company they are giving the recommendations to. Even certain Youtubers can be suspect these days as they are paid by some sims for endorsements (Iracing being the top offender)
I was recently looking at Mazda Cup cars, curious as to how expensive it would be to get into club racing. Any amount really would be out of my budget but it is neat to think of being on track in an actual race against other drivers.
In any case, enough of my blubbering. You will find the membership here helpful if you are willing to ask questions. I hope you enjoy your time here, and in rF2 more generally.
See you on track.

VRC turns 3 years old this month (Forums were started Oct 28th).
Thanks to all the members who have come and joined this fantastic league. It has been a fun run and I look forward to seeing VRC continue to grow and prosper for years to come.

Welcome Mark. As the other Admin's have said, have a look around and get to know the other members. It always good to see previous sim racers return to this addictive hobby. Thanks for your interest in running with us. I am sure you will enjoy this league as much as our other members. (That is to say, quite a bit) Also be sure to look over our rules and regulations to be sure you are up on our expectations. They are pretty standard and easy to follow, most being common sense.
Again, welcome to VRC.

For those of you who have purchased the Porsche Cup Car and Nordschleife I have put up a server with the Cup car @ Nordschleife GP track. See how you stack up. Good Luck.

Welcome Knut. It is always exciting to have new members enthusiastic to come aboard and bring attention to our little group of drivers. I hope you enjoy yourself. The race at Salzburgring should pretty intense. Lots of drivers on a relatively short track with loads of straight line racing (one might even say drag strip racing)

I decided on McLaren
Which one?

Yeah. It was a last minute decision that did not have much warning. It was more of a placeholder in case anyone wanted to jump on during our regular race time.

I would like to correct that hypercars won't replace lmp2 but lmp1 class.
Thank you for the correction Matt. Apparently I misunderstood the original announcement about the Hypercars.

The Aston Martin GTE and Mclaren Senna Hypercar/GTR have been released as a pack on Steam. https://store.steampowered.com/itemstore/365960/detail/1011/Each car can be purchased separately, but the pack makes a lot more sense as rF2 and WEC will be replacing the LMP2 with the Hypercar class in the near future. plus the AM GTE is an addition to the GTE class in multiclass racing. (which we may move toward in an other series or two) I have up a server with the GTE, Hypercar, and LMP2 classes on it at both LeMans and Sebring. Just move to the next track if you find yourself on a track youe would rather not be on and you are the only driver on the server. If there are more people you will have to put it to a vote. My early impressions on the Aston is that the LeMans gearing is way to long and I could not get past 180 or so on the straights. I am sure I simply have not got the setup right, although I could not keep the car on the track with 1 wing. The Mclaren senna is a hoot to drive. Planted as the day is long and the gears are unlocked so you can decide how you want to attack the track. No aero packages available though so it is up to the drivers to setup their car for either LeMans or Sebring. Let us know your opinions on the cars and maybe share some setups if you feel so inclined.

Welcome back Guy. We've seen a pretty good bump in participation since your last series with us so hopefully you will find the larger grids to your liking. We moved to a rolling start a few series ago which helped cut down on the lap 1, turn 1 shenanigans considerably. We also now review all 1st lap incidents so that helps keep people honest in the start of the race. I'm looking forward to seeing you on track again. Hope to see you on the server some time.
