Hi Rick. Thanks for joining up. I am sure you will find several people here with a similar talent level and ability as you. We have super fast aliens, competent mid-packers, several "Capt. Slow" types and even a few rolling chicanes. But all of our members are fair and up for a good battle if it is to be had.
I am sure you will find your spot here and enjoy your time.
As far as mods we will be using EGT for the next points series again. It is a good mod that everyone is familiar with. For the off-season and mini-season prior to the next points race we have not yet finalized the mods or tracks to be used.
Again welcome and I look forward to seeing you on track.

I have put up a test server for Laguna Seca. One of the reasons I have not used Laguna Seca in our recent series is due to some bumps in the track which had been throwing cars into the air. This was discovered while using the P1 mod. I think though that the EGT cars sit off the ground enough for this to not be a problem. I recall having this problem with Donington as well and we didnt have any issues with the EGT cars.
So in an effort to have Laguna Seca included in our next series I would like for you all to test this version of the track with the EGT cars and report any problems. I will continue to put up test tracks in preparation for next the next points series.

Stevo,
It would be a shame for you to let a few incidents stop you from attending our (your) races. You race well and there is no reason for you to avoid racing in competitive contests with us. I was not upset at our incident. You spun and panicked a bit trying to get off the track, that is all. I've done the same thing. Most everyone here has when they started racing, with maybe the exception of Michael F who was born with a wheel in his hand on his home planet.
The simple fact of the matter is that you can become the worlds greatest hot-lapper and look amazing on the liveracers site, but unless you actually race with other drivers you wont get better at actually racing with other drivers. You get better by learning from your mistakes. If you stop driving with other drivers you will only stall and stunt your learning and growing in our hobby.
There is absolutely no reason for you to stop driving with us so I reject your letter of resignation. And, baring an unfortunate bike and tree encounter or other calamitous, physically destructive accident, I fully expect to see you next Sunday at Sebring. Got it?

One of the guys I game with after work keeps asking me if anyone's done the Isle of Man track for rfactor 2. Near as I can tell no one's done the Isle of Man for any driving game. Correct me if I'm wrong

not really interested of 3 screen setup because all the hassle involved.
It's no that much hassle, at least it's worth the hassle to me.

I was sitting at work and thinking about Michael F's offer to teach us some lessons (He does it on every Sunday, but he was offering to do it on a Saturday and not in a race setting...) This got me to thinking about situational awareness and making sure when you know there is someone next to you or you are clear to move onto another line. I thought about the look left right and back buttons I have mapped and how I rarely use the look left and right features and rely on my mirrors instead. This got me to thinking about how console racers tend to have better awareness due to the alternate views they tend to use. This then led to me wondering about the couple of drivers I know who use controllers and chase cams for driving. This ultimately led me to wonder how many of our drivers use each listed view.
Whew that was the long way around to getting to how this poll started. In any case, list what view you use to race in VRC and rF2 in general.

Im a bit surprised by how much computer this game needs to run smooth. My racing rig runs it flawlessly maxed out. My upstairs utility computer (Retired gaming computer from 3 years ago) struggles and even with all low settings has graphical hitches and freezes. So I think some optimizations need to be done yet.

For those of you who played the Witcher series of games by CD Projekt Red, it should come as no surprise that CDPR have come out with an online version of the trading card mini-game included in the Witcher 3 game, Gwent. I have been playing it since closed beta and have found it intriguing to say the least. Mind you I have never played a "Trading Card Game" (TCG) before and have never felt the inclination to do so. But I played the game in the Witcher 3 game and was instantly hooked. The back and forth of the rounds, the subtleties and nuanced play styles, the tactics and deck building all make for a very tactical and well paced game. It is F2P and you can get all cards through grinding out rounds, or if you are a bit more free with your cash you can buy cards (not specific cards but card packs with random cards inside). I am cash averse and have found that I have been able to build a very competitive deck with nothing more than grinding games. I was concerned that I would come up against allot of wallet warriors, and while that does happen from time to time, it is not nearly as prevalent as I suspected it might be. I win as many rounds as I lose. I see this game possibly moving into the E-sport realm and having competitions for money eventually. In any case If you are interested you can sign up for the open beta here: https://www.playgwent.com/enI am Depco in game. I know they have a friends list of some sort but I have not yet tried it out. Let me know if you already play or sign up for an account. I don't believe they have any sort of referral program. Hope to see you on the battle field.

That looks pretty slick. I noticed that the URD guys were working on getting the light position numbers on the T5 Mod. I suspect they will be putting that on the update EGT mod as well.
