Yes, at CMS league the URD mod (Rebellion) and URD GTE were mixed.

Works pretty good, as the LMP1 speed is way higher, so the traffic was fine.
You could easily get passed the GTE car on the brake and also while accelerating.

With LMP2 and GT(E or 3 doesnt make that much of a difference) the speed difference is lower, so more chances of nasty moments because you have to take more risks to get by without losing too much time.

I really like the day night cycle in rF2, dawn looks nice.

Why not just run it with the S397 GT3 cars?

yes. why should multiclass be a pre-requisite for endurance racing?

You could combine mods. At racedepartment I've done races with a gt mod and a separate lmp (Rebellion in that case) together. Worked out quite well.

Tom's suggestion of 1 hour race with full day night cycle would be great as a try out of racing at dusk and dqwn. Night is quite ok but visibility at dusk and dawn is poor.

I have done this once, I think it was back when I ran my own server many years ago :D

1 hour is maybe too fast to experience the full 24h cycle, but I'm not against it either.

I'd also be interested in doing some endurance racing. I've never done online driver swaps or any of that so it'd be fun to finally try it out. As far as format I'm ok with whatever you guys come up with. Since we're doing a VRC GT3 "sprint" series I think it would be cool to do a GT3 "endurance" event. Sort of like what the Blancpain series does.

Multi-class racing is not mandatory, but I and others have wanted to move toward multi-class racing once we had enough drivers on grid consistently. I don't think we are there yet. Perhaps we do a one-off race after the gt3 series to try it out. Kind of like the one-off endurance race.

In the WEC in real life only 30 cars are on the grid. We have over 20 cars right now, so I think we have enough right now.
In the CMS league there were only 12-15 on the grid, this was also almost enough for a good competion on most tracks.

I am really looking forward to a test race after the GT3 season!

Over 20 cars in sprint races doesn't unfortunately equal to over 20 teams in endurance racing. I don't have much interest in endurance racing where I would be the only driver of my team. I could do 1,5-2h race by myself but I would much rather have for example 3 hours race with two teammates.

That said, we definitely should try some endurance racing in some form.

So far 12 of us has shown interest. There is probably more even among the membership.

Time might create some difficulties for me. Lets say we start around our usual time. Race would start 18 GMT (league time), so when 3 hours race would be over it would be already 21 GMT so 11 PM for me (during summer time it would be already midnight). I would avoid driving on that/those final hour(s) as I can't concentrate on such late hour anymore :P I'm probably not able to spend the whole 3 hours on the server either. I'm sure many have somewhat similar situation when it comes to endurance racing.

If we could get at least 30 drivers, we could have 15 teams and have a 4 hour race, changing driver every hour .  We could do a 24 cycle...that would be very cool.  I could ask some of the guys I know from other leagues.  I am sure a few of them will go for a one time event like that.  I guess we will need start being more specific, Mod, Classes, racetrack and date, etc.

That sounds nice. We could call it an invitational. VRC 4 hours of Lemans Invitational (Or something like that).

But I would like to hold this event after our current series has been completed. That would allow time for planning and advertising.
