I'm curious if anyone has tried VR yet? I'm contemplating getting an Occulus or Vive when I get my new computer. I'm thinking that the "3D" would help a lot for the braking points. But I hear the field of vision is not that wide. I guess that's where a triple monitor set up would be better?

I have been able to get VR running on a Gear VR and Galaxy Note 4. I use a program called Riftcat to emulate a Rift. After some tweaking I was able to get it working fairly well. Not well enough to use on race day but well enough to fart around with. Looking around the cockpit was great and the 3d experience is fricking awesome. But the resolution is not good enough to see far distances and judge breaking points reliably. With time I could probably get used to it, but for now screens are a better solution to that particular setup. I expect the Vive would have MUCH better resolution and clarity. as well as infinitely better tracking and no jitter. I currently have some screen latency that I cant seem to get rid of. I dont get it when using the Gear VR as an actual VR headset itself. but I use the Riftcat Vive emulator over wireless and that introduces some minor lag and jittering.

But if you can afford a Vive I highly recommend it. Just the effect I get from the Gear VR is enough to sell me on the fact that VR is the future of gaming and the next big racing peripheral.

You don't probably need shadow blur if you have shadows off :)

I always try to aim for at least low reflections...

I have a monitor that has a refresh rate of 144hz but I usually choose the 100hz option so to take advantage of it I need to stay above 100fps also.
In order to win you need to be willing to roll the dice.

Thanks for posting these settings gents, very similar to mine with a few differences.  I am getting around 90 fps on average at this track.  My monitors have a refresh rate of 144hz also, why does it help to turn this down to 100 hz Tig_green and do you do this in the nVidia Control panel?

prob need to be nearer 150fps for 144hz so 100hz closer to the 90fps your getting :)
