Packers?
(1/1)
Dane Van Pelt:
Is anyone using packers in their particular setup with the amg gt3? I was under the impression that you needed to adjust your packers in conjuction with bump stops, but there is no bump stop in the suspension setup. Fast and slow bump is just a damper setting, or should I not be approaching this as realistically as my brain wants to lol according to my data aquistion a little bit of packers are needed here at portimao from a couple turns where the suspension is really really being loaded up, and stiffer springs are not necessarily the best option for how undulating the track can be. I'm probably over thinking this, but after seeing Scott get under 1:40, and my eclectic best time is a 1:40.2, it's sent me scrambling for that last bit of speed without wanting to trim out some to enforce. I know packers aren't going to find the speed I need, but getting absolutely every aspect as dialed in to my driving style as possible is always my goal.
Chad Brown:
Hopefully one of the setup guru's here will be able to help in this regard. I typically don't do a lot of suspension adjustments outside of ARB and ride height. As someone else here has said the dampers seems to be a black art.
Maciej Bekas:
Myself i had no time to play with packers due to limited running before the race but it make sense what you saying . Track layout here ups and downs you could benefit from adjusting them i guess . However i was able to go below 1.40 with packers 0 but i had a feeling i was loosing some time today in a bumpy section. It is all about testing and choosing the best settings that suits your driving style
