VRC team at the Studio 397 12h of Sebring
« on: March 20, 2019, 02:27:42 pm »
Thanks to Jimi Nisula VRC will have a team participating in this Saturday's (March 23) Studio 397 12h of Sebring race.  Jimi qualified 3rd in the GT3 class (only 0.068 from P1) out of 120+ who attempted to get one of the 8 spots available.  Jimi is a beast!!!!

The race will have 3 classes, LMP2, GTE, GT3 (12-14-14) for a total of 40 teams.

Tom Kapusta, Matt Palla and I will join Jimi in this grueling 12 hours race. We have been practicing and getting ready for it. It will be our first experience doing an endurance race and a lot can happen... :) :) :)

For those who may want to see what is going on with the race, I  will post here a link to the livestream once it is available. The race will go from 11:00am CET (6:00am ET) until 11:00pm CET (6:00pm ET).

Was definitely an interesting event. Loved that it had all these big names and it was well organized with streams, commentary and prizes. Made all the effort put into the preparation and devoting almost your full day in the race day into the event worthwhile.

Even with not being new to simracing and practicing a lot prior to the race, I think I still wasn't mentally preparted to all that was involved. Part of it being of course that this was my first multiclass race with three different classes involved and driving the slowest class car. Navigating the traffic was difficult but fun. My own performance wasn't always that great, but we made it to the end, and I'm happy I was able to be involved. Thanks Jimi, and super effort on your part! Solid performances from Juan and Tom K without any major issues. Great group to race with and they didn't give me hard time for my mistakes :)

Also happy that rfactor 2 moves towards its potential.

In order to win you need to be willing to roll the dice.

The team did a great job in a really tough field. I would consider just finishing a victory. Congrats!
