Off season fun runs
« on: December 06, 2017, 06:35:22 am »
So I believe we spoke about doing a couple of off-season fun runs in PC2. Should we get some ideas for what people want to run or let Simon decide on race day and watch people fumble around the track. A real test of peoples ability to adapt to a new and unknown scenario... Might be fun.

As long as he doesn't pick Nordschleife :D

Formula rookie car was pretty fun when I tested it. Simon might know what cars are popular so we could attract some random people joining these events (but lets make it password protected at least).

As rain is pretty cool in pc2, we should do one race in changing conditions. If next two Sundays are with pc2, then I think our gt3 series can't start sooner than 21st of January. 24th and 31st of December are not great days for simracing. I wouldn't mind if the pre-season has only one race in it. People would practice on our servers or offline anyway.

I was thinking our usual time on Sunday. I would like to see race starting either wet and then drying out or a sunny start with approaching rain.

Brand Hatch, Donington or Laguna Seca would be nice. Maybe two 30 min races, could be different tracks even.
In order to win you need to be willing to roll the dice.

It would be nice to try a track we don't have in rfactor 2. Or you track that is poorly done in rfactor 2, like Watkins Glen, etc

How about:

week 1) Rookie formulas on some relatively short track, then a tintop race car in drying conditions in Watkins Glen. Two sprint races.

Week 2) gt cars in Laguna. One 45 min race.

?
