Well that was a bucket load of fun!

I was surprised I managed to put my PB time in quali. Just wasn't feeling the car today. I knew my race pace probably wasn't going to be the greatest so I thought I'd pick a different strategy to everyone else.

My start was pretty good and I made up a spot, I think Tom bogged off the line. The tires caught me off guard and had a spin early on, but after that I was surprised with my pace on the primes compared to everyone else. Had a few stupid spins and mistakes that I really should not have. Made one really hopeless move behind Simon and I think I gave him a tap so I have to apologize for that one. Luckily it didn't cause any issues.

Also had a great fight with Jan. Great racing, dude! Very clean and I have to say you were very consistent and a safe pair of hands at the wheel bar a couple of moments.

After the pitstops cycled my strategy worked well very well. I had much fresher tires than Jan and was able to pass him and build a 10 second gap. After that it was pretty boring for the last 10 or so laps - too far behind Michael (and too slow) to catch him so I took it very easy and got it home with no major issues. In the end even without my spins and errors my pace would've worked out to a 4th place finish so it's as much as I could've hoped for.

I completely agree with Tom - the 45 minute format works very well, and the pitstops made it a much more interesting and fun race. Too bad the URD cars can make it on one tank but even if it's a mandatory stop strategy can play a big part in making the races as fun as this one.

Thanks for the great time guys, I'm starting to get more comfortable racing other people and making clean moves. See you on track!

P.S. the whole sweating and shaking thing is what I love about this, and yea, count me in that group.

Does anybody have a replay file of the race? I haven't figured out how to record yet. And I'd love to go back and review how you all drove the course while I was trimming the grass and hanging out in the pits!

Not sure if replays are on by default but you can have a look in Single Player/Options/Replay and see if you have it.

I can also upload the replay file from the server to the dropbox account so you can download it. You will have to place the file into the replay folder to watch it though.

I gainen huge lead very quickly, so much so i went into tire saving mode. I shouldnt ve done that. 14ish lap, my rears just suddenly go in an unexplainable fashion for me, slamming into wall, repairs took 57 sec. After that i did not manage to catch P2 and 1 anymore. I didnt drive very well anyway, but that crash i am very confused by, oh well. Big well done to P 1 and 2, very consistent driving on a demanding difficult car. well done

Grats to the podium!
That was a fun race, I really enjoy these cars, didn't think I would cuz I'm not much of an indy car fan.
Thanks for the race.
Gerry
