7.10 Bump Passing:
Bump-passing is defined as the trailing driver nudging the car ahead to make it unstable to momentarily lose traction and control. The driver of the leading car is forced to correct his steering, slow down, or at least stop accelerating to regain traction and/or car control, which allows the trailing car(s) to pass.

Penalty: Bump passing is not allowed, even if it occurred accidentally. The driver will get a penalty in the Championship.  If the offending driver gives back the position immediately, the penalty might be reduced/avoided.

7.11 Leaving Space:
Any driver defending his position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the full width of the track during his first move ( as per rule #7.3 Blocking), provided no portion of the car attempting to pass is alongside his/her car. If two cars have any parts alongside one another, each driver must respect the space occupied by the other car. It does not matter who is ahead, nor how far they are ahead, they may not initiate a move into the other car. Both drivers have the right to continue driving in a straight line unimpeded, this includes not being forced to go off track to do so.

Penalty: Not leaving enough space to other drivers is not allowed, even if it occurred accidentally. The driver will get a penalty in the Championship if it causes an accident.

7.12 Causing a Caution Period:
If you cause a yellow flag AND the safety car comes on track, you must pit to have damage checked.  If there is no damage, your car may leave the pit box with no work having been done.  Failure to do so will result in a penalty.

Sanction Level: The driver will get an infraction in the Championship.

7.13 Flashing lights:
Flashing lights can only be done when warning a lapped car of your presence. Flashing maximum 4 times and no longer than 2 seconds

Sanction Level: The driver will get warning in the Championship.

7.14 Unsportsmanlike Conduct
A driver who demonstrate unsportsmanlike behaviour may be subject to a penalty. Examples of unsportsmanlike conduct are: use of foul language, retaliation, verbal abuse,  aggressive behaviour, in-game exploitation, cheating.

Sanction Level: The driver will get a penalty in the Championship for each infraction of this rule.

7.15 Pit stalls
Most tracks have enough garage spaces to accommodate 30+ cars, but pit boxes are not as many as a rule.
If you are first to pit, make sure you use half of  the pit stall.  This will allow another car to pit in the same pit box.  See images below:

If you arrive to your pit stall, it is already occupied and not enough room is given, DO NOT try to squeeze into the spot as this can cause damage. Wait for the driver in the pit stall to leave.

Note: In some tracks there is not enough space to safely accommodate two cars in the same pit stall.  For those tracks there will be an exception to this rule and it will be mentioned during the briefing.

Sanction Level: If the first driver does not use half the pit stall, the driver will get a penalty in the Championship for every violation of the rule during the race.

Sanction Level: If the driver arriving second tries to squeeze into the spot,  the driver will get a penalty in the Championship for every violation of the rule during the race.

7.16 Crossing Start/Finish line car position
It is your responsibility to know exactly who you need to follow. The driver to follow will be the one in front of you on the starting grid and behind the driver ahead of you in qually ( The front of the car behind must not be aligned ahead of the rear axle line of the car positioned directly in front on the grid.).
See image below:

Sanction Level: If the front of your car is higher than the the rear axle line of the car positioned directly in front on the grid while crossing the S/F line and you gain a position and do not give it back the driver will receive a penalty in the Championship.

7.17 Backmarkers
When a car is caught by a lead car and blue flags are being shown,  the lapped car shall give the lead car the right of way, within 4 corners, by pulling over to one side to allow for passing on the racing line.  The lapped car should slow down enough to allow the safe pass, the lapped car should not race the leading car either.   At certain tracks, a series of corners in short succession may be designated as one corner for the purposes of observing the blue flag; this will be at the Stewards’ discretion (ex. the S section at Suzuka).  Lead cars may flash lights to let the car being lapped know that they are fast approaching.

Sanction Level:Any driver who does not take notice of the blue flag and fail to yield to the lapping car within 4 corners  will get a penalty.

7.18 First out lap  - Qualifying
During the initial out lap of the qualifying session, drivers are prohibited from overtaking one another unless the leading car signals to the following car that it is allowed to pass. Additionally, drivers must maintain a minimum speed of 115 kmh / 72 mph on the straights.

Sanction Level: If a driver passes another driver, he/she will receive an infraction. If there is an incident, a penalty might be issued.
Sanction Level: If a driver does not maintain the minimum speed, he/she will receive and infraction.

7.19 Race No-Show
Drivers registered for a race who can not participate in the race anymore will need to unregister in Discord 60 minutes before the start of the official practice session (sending a message to an Admin does not count).  Failure to do that is considered a No-Show

Sanction Level:
Drivers registered for a race who fail to unregister for two races per season, resulting in two "No-Shows", will be moved from either the Active to the Reserve list, or from the Reserve to the Inactive list (A driver placed in the Inactive list will not be allowed to participate for one race, after that he/she can ask the Admins to be reinstated.

8. Registration:
In order to ensure the safe and consistent racing our members have come to expect, registration for the series is mandatory. To register click on Series Sign Up tab on the web site, then click on Registration option and follow the prompts.
Registrants must use their real name. On the race server real names are enforced.
Name entered in rFactor is also used for the standings. Avoid changing your name after the first race you participate in, as changing your name will mean that you will have an entry in the standings for each name and points will not be accurately calculated.

9. Race Participation:
There is no enforcement to participate on a minimum number of races. Race participation will affect your Active and Reserve status for the season.  The following guidelines apply on race day:

  • Maximum driver capacity in the server is determined by the number of available garage boxes per track.  This varies depending on each track (normally around 32).  To avoid Server performance issues, driver limit will be set at 36 drivers even if garage capacity for the track allows for more.
  • Drivers need to register for the race in the #race-registration channel in Discord.  Active drivers have the priority to register.  They will have until 5:30pm UK, 12:30pm ET on the Thrusday before the race. Reserve drivers will be able to register after that.
  • Very important, if server is maxed out, the cut off point to enter the race will be at the end of the official practice session.
  • If we are at the maximum number of drivers when official practice ends, all the drivers in the server can participate in qually and enter the race, regardless of being an Active or Reserve driver and having registered for the race or not. Again, this will be the cut off point and no more drivers can join qually and the race.

If we are over the maximum of drivers allowed in the server, only drivers who are registered for the race will be able to qually and race.  Unfortunately, in this situation, drivers who are not registered will have to leave the server.
  • If we are below the maximum number of drivers allowed in the server when official practice ends, all drivers in the server can participate in qually and enter the race, regardless of being an Active or Reserve driver and having registered for the race or not. More drivers could enter during qualifying until the maximum is reached.

9. Protest:
The admins will review formation lap and lap 1 looking for incidents. The admins may review incidents they see on their walk-through of the replay. This is not a comprehensive review of all the incidents and it is up to the individual drivers to report any incidents.

Report incidents to the admins and we will work together to resolve the problem. A formal complaint can be made through a PM to any of the race Stewards  Juan Amaya / Tom Kapusta / Sebastian Lukasik /Simon Jones / Phil Redman)
Include the lap, drivers involved, and specific incident in question so the Admins can more easily review the replay and assess penalties as appropriate. Reviewing or commenting incidents in public is not allowed. Request to review an incident must be made within 24 hours from the end of the race.
